I would like to take a moment to brag about the fantastic team we are building here at Lierman Headquarters.
Each person brings unique ideas and perspectives to the table, and so far, working together has been an absolute pleasure. Over the next few months, you may hear from them with updates on our fundraising numbers, volunteer opportunities, or outreach efforts.

Joe, our Campaign Manager, comes to Team Lierman after successfully leading a multi-year, statewide campaign to pass Maryland’s most extensive education reform package in decades — the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. He most recently served as the executive director of Strong Schools Maryland and the Coalition co-chair for the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. Joe has called Maryland home for a decade and is excited to work every day to ensure I become the next Maryland Comptroller! You can reach Joe at Joe@BrookeLierman.com.
Teresa, our Deputy Finance Director, was born in Puebla, Mexico, and grew up in Montgomery County. She is an alumnus of Montgomery College and the University of Maryland, College Park. Teresa has spent seven years working in the Maryland General Assembly as Legislative Director and Chief of Staff for various elected officials. Teresa has also managed state and local campaigns in Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Anne Arundel Counties. Teresa currently lives in Kensington, Maryland, and is thrilled to join Team Lierman after seeing my leadership and dedication in the House of Delegates.
Madison, our Organizing Director, is an alumna of the AmeriCorps program like me. From AmeriCorps, she returned home to work for the Minnesota Democratic Party, NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota, the Klobuchar for Minnesota Senate Campaign, and the Amy for America Campaign. Madison decided to move to Maryland and join Team Lierman after hearing numerous stories from friends in Maryland about my vision and passion for public service.
Sydney, our Director of Outreach and Digital Coordination, is from Charles County. She is a graduate of Towson University and, while in school, worked as a field organizer for Delegate Robbyn Lewis — eventually working her way to becoming the Deputy Campaign Manager for Councilman Eric Costello in Baltimore City. Sydney then joined Baltimore City Councilman Costello’s office as the Community Liaison. After a small hiatus from campaign work, Sydney is excited to join Team Lierman to help me become Maryland’s first female Comptroller. I am so grateful they have all joined this campaign and I can’t wait for you to get the chance to meet them virtually, or hopefully in person soon!
Joe, Madison, Teresa, and Sydney have arrived, ready to hit the ground running. I am fortunate and ecstatic to work with them over the next year – and with you!
